Hay Oakland, where they doing all the construction @? I used to live up in Onterio and Nyssa..

most of those are just around here on random projects but the paving pics are between boise and nampa there widening the freeway to 3 lanes. theres alot going on in ontario and nyssa right now there redoing all the roads in nyssa and there redoing the truck stop outside ontario and replacing the snake river bridge.

Thanks again oakland, but may I ask what's up with the bridge on stilts?

  13. #13oakland2008-10-20 20:05

the contractor tore down 2 overpasses because they were not wide enough for the lanes to be widened underneath. this is supposedly a faster way of building them as they only have 120 days to put them back once there done a 400 ton low lift will be used and they will be put back in place in late january.

if it's the same system they are using here in salt lake on I-80 they build the bridge as stated then they move it into place so then they have a weekend or a few day lane closer instead of months of lane closers.from what i understand I-80 was the first they have done this and so far it has worked really well.

that exhaust on the 375 with the muffler on top of the hood looks like how they ran the old 235's when they were having over heating issues.

sounds the same. the transportation department couldnt close the lane under the bridges because then the freeway would be 1 lane both ways. and it would come to a dead stop.
