Is it possible to fit a cummins engine in cat 325bl? Any modification to be done?# Thanks, Samm.
Simple question. Why would you want to and what specific model of Cummins are you considering..?
Is has been done, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L15DjQVNlok I have a 325B and the engine really sucks, but if she was born with that engine, I think she must die with it.
Anything is possible but just because it is possible that doesn't necessarily make it worth doing. I once saw a scrapper weld a British Leyland engine into a LinkBelt. It worked but what he ended up with was a pile of junk. Also know of a local guy who put an L10 Cummins in an 892 Deere. Same horse power ect but it didn't work. My advice, stick with what you've got and you'll be much happier.
The OP's in London, he should call Tony! TC, where are you? :notworthy
In London the price of a cummins against repair or replacement of the cat unit will be far higher. Excluding the six pots fitted to early DAF trucks... Those being a highway biased engine... The folks at caterpillar who design his stuff are paid big money. It's an educated guess they get it right. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. u less it's something special, it won't be worth it. Good luck either way.
