Just bought a D21A-7 and have noticed it makes a fairly loud noise like a brake is partially applied when trying to turn while pushing under a good load. Normal? It is the joystick steering control on this unit FYI.
Anybody?
If you are using the brakes when its making the noise it could be wornout brake band , that will be the cheapest place to check first
ANY noise when applying steering clutches will warrant further investigation of the clutch and brake assembly. It will never get any better and only cause further damage to expensive components. D21 clutches are super easy to access and repair. First off, check the 8 bolt holes in the rear of each steering clutch case for those silly cork inserts. If any are missing, that will be an easy point of entry for moisture, water, and trash to enter the inside.
