Helping a friend out with his D31p-18 dozer. Long story short the starter was bad, all of the wiring at the safety switch had been cut spliced etc. We opted to get new starter assembly w/safety switch and all ready to roll besides plugging in the one connector and hooking up the battery main. After installing the new starter the dozer will not start. The starter does nothing, upon inspection now the battery relay switch is no longer activating like it was before when cycling key on. I’m assuming the battery switch relay not engaging as it should be is my issue. What do y’all recommend doing? Is the new safety switch causing it to not activate? I’m guessing now someone wired around the safety switch on the old starter setup(wiring mess before)… starter has 24.5 volt at the battery main stud on the starter. Solenoid is not receiving any volts with trying to start. Any help would be appreciated!
