Hey everyone, I have a d31E-17 that sputters when the throttle is all the way up when first starting. Once the machine warms up enough, it’s fine. New filters and fluids have been done. This machine is new too me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Pull injectors and have tested
Injectors have already been redone.
By a reputable company? You didn't buy injectors on the internet, did you?
No, I brought it to my local diesel shop that does injectors and injector pumps. They have been doing it for years.
Throttle should not be "...all the way up...." especially when starting a cold diesel. You are reving a cold engine and the cold oil is at a high viscosity that resists flowing. Follow the manufacture's cold starting instructions. In a cold engine at starting, the cold cylinder and piston surfaces act a deactivating surfaces to the initial combustion reactions , that's why it sounds like it's not getting enough fuel and bangs and sputters. If you use a block heater for a couple of hours it will start like it's summertime and 90F. This many not be possible if you are working in remote area unless you have a current bush'rs manual.
