With information gathered here I finally have the D4, otherwise known as the devil's spawn, running and functional. Almost functional,,, It has all new undercarriage, the brakes and steering clutches are all new and they are perfect , almost. There is a tiny, tiny bit of freewheeling between friction release and the steering brakes engage. There needs to be more of a freewheel before the brakes engage. It makes for a difficult gentle turn and cross frictioning is impossible. I am thinking that if there's any adjustments available it would be in the newly rebuilt brake and friction control valve. The book doesn't cover it as far as I can find.
