D4 j needs engine

Any one know what would fit in this dozer besides the old babbitt rod engine, crank is worn really bad and its knocking now from the oil leaving thru the front seal. A buddy has one and wants to use it , maybe. thanks

    The original engine is a D4400. These are an insert bearing engine. Possible to install the later D315 engine also.

    Then maybe its older that they think, it definately has babbitt rods. thanks

    The D47J does use babbit type rod bearings but they are insert type doweled location style, not the poured in place type if that is what you are thinking.
