I have a couple of pics but they are just a small taste ....i will try and upload...give you something to look at.. 1948 approx D2 4U

We brought new ones for our D2 approx 5 years ago. I'll try and find out where tomorrow. Have you been to cat or tillys? Did you get any manuals with her?

You should be able to find fuel filter from CATERPILLAR in AUSTRALIA but if you can't I should have some but am located in CANADA [email protected]

Hi Steve My manual very briefly mentions the fuel filters and that is it..nothing but a mention of them.. It goes onto more descriptive stuff about the fuel pump however..no pages missing !

If you can purchase Wix filters there the fuel filter elements are a #33825 On the oil filter, make sure you match either the bypass type or full flow type. Bypass type inner element is a Wix #51165 Full flow is a Wix #51161

Replacements will most likely be the sock type unless you find some old new old stock. Flow is from outside through the media and out the top through the hanger plate.

Thanks there old magnet.. Comes through the plastic centre of the filter where the spring is ...these things must be pretty beat up ,the old girl died hunting with every last breath..You would not believe what i got out if teh tank...a white looking slime a few good handfulls of it plus what looked like brown diesel ,water everything...

Thanks there Alan By any chance have you got a part number for the rubber plunger seals X4 that sit on top of the fuel pump .I would call the housing a delivery valve as the injector line hooks straight up to it .That housing has a seal on each which seals fuel from the pump housing to the valve plunger housing..I pulled mine off and put them back and now i shoulda just let themmmm...leaking like a siv..like they say,if it aint broke don't fix it..

  16. #16Old Magnet2012-07-16 10:11

Part number is a 2A3307. You'll have to get them from Cat as they are a bit of an odd ball being rather thick for that diameter.

Thanks Old Magnet Yeah i used that number at Cat ,Cheap part ,even thought it is rubber, only 0.88 cents each..They ordered all 4 with air post came to $6.50 ,one screw up i can afford at least.. The engine runs really well, The valves need a slight tighten but generally alll good.I am planning on changing the oil bath oil for the air cleaner next ,lovely stuff ...
