D4C Track repair

How much can I expect to pay to have my lower track rollers replaced? The track assembly itself is in pretty good shape as it has been replace prior to me buying it. I am pretty sure it does not have a master link as there is no separating link so to my judgement it will have to have a pin pressed out to remove the track if required for the job.

Only way you will know for certain is to call HE Construction Mechanics in your area. Also contact the local CAT Shop as to an estimate. Anyone will need a S/N to isolate parts groups for price estimates.

Should be able to collapse track enough to get bottom rollers out .

If the machine is lifted and blocked up, the track will loosen enough to change bottom rollers. A bit of a pain doing them in place but they aren't really big rollers. The biggest determining factor would be how easy the bolts come out and if any break. Taking the time to get the bolts out is crucial. Smacking them and/or heating them first is well worth the extra effort.

Is there any specific reason why you want someone else to do it.? On that size of a machine if you have tools it's not hard, as Dave said the rollers are not heavy, they weigh around 55 pounds each. Also advice will be available here to help you.
