Have new seats made to match the trashed originals and thought I had the mount for the seat back figured out. The old mount was gone, just the board and threaded inserts remained. Anyone with a picture of the stock attachment(s)? The service manual mentions removing four bolts to remove the seat back, mine looks like it used to be a lift-out with the seat back having a slotted metal strap on the back that dropped over a couple flat headed studs.
Should be two steel mounting straps attached to the seat back with key hole to slip over the two studs on the tank and two bolt holes to attach to the threaded blocks on the tank.
OM, that is exactly what I had in mind until reading the manual. Could not figure how to, per the instructions: Remove four bolts and then lift out seat back out. Will proceed as previously planed.
