I need a little help here if anyone has had similar issues.Have a D5G that has a lazy blade function it will lift when empty, when pushing a load it will not lift, dismantled valve and swaped make up valve from ripper section to dozer section. But sitting here tonight had a brain fart and thought MABYE a cylinder packing pooched will lift empty but bypasses when a load is on it??
Does it happen all the time, hot or cold?
I had one do that on the angle and if I remember right the nut had come off the cylinder holding the piston on.
Ok there is a post made by "atcoequip" now know as "willie" that goes in depth into the problems with valves and hydraulic cylinders. Reading his post should clean a lot of grey area up. Basically for the cylinder to be the problem is not making sense because of the differences in oil volume from one side of the cylinder to the other. Also doesn't the machine have 2 blade lift cylinder working together? What are the chances of having 2 faulty blade cylinders at the same exact time? That being said I believe your problem is in the valve or in the reliefs for the valves. A relieve that is stuck partially open will act like that. Did you try capping the lines on the cylinders and moving the blade with another machine? or switching lines around?
It happened all the time and it ended up being the cylinder the piston was broken off thanks for reply
Stump, don't forget the cylinders are hooked together and oil can free flow between them. Jadcalmech, thanks very much for letting us all know what the problem was.
