D5G No movement

marka683 · 2016-05-23 00:01

I am working on a D5G S/N 5GPFDH00553, park brake light stays on, transmission light is on, this is my first time working on one of these dozers. Is there a way to retrieve a trouble code? Any help/schematics would be greatly appreciated. Thank You [email protected]

Check on here for threads regarding accessing Diagnostic Codes. There have been quite a few non-moving D5G's recently so there ought to be some suggestions about what to check. A copy of the electrical schematic is on its way to you.

Have a code 245, I do not know where the solenoid valve transmission pilot pressure is physically located,

The solenoid is located on the valve manifold, grid D-2 of page 2 of the schematic. The wires that feed it will be marked 915 Green & H802 Grey, just so you get the correct one. Physically on the machine it's here.........but the one you want to be looking at is Ref #2, not #4. Don't try switching the solenoids over either, the Part Numbers are different. Also be aware that you may have a wiring harness short circuit to ground or indeed a break in a wire somewhere. Before going out to buy a new solenoid check both the above-referred wires for continuity between the solenoid and the machine ECM shown on Grid H-11 of the schematic, especially wire H802 because it is shown as having various joints which are hidden inside the harness itself. I've seen these joints come apart before ....

Another thought. Check the resistance of the solenoid coil and make sure it's within the 10.3+/-0.6Ω specification.

H802 open between ECU and coil any suggestions?

Find out how many intermediate connectors it runs through, open each connector and check the H802 one section at a time is all I can suggest. I can see at least one - CONN 27. If you look at the schematic and follow wire H802 from the ECM you will see it has a number of internal splices in the harness. As H802 is a common return wire for more than 1 solenoid and the others are working OK then the fault must be in the branch of H802 that ONLY feeds the Pilot solenoid. That ought to narrow it down a bit.

Found an open in the harness between connector 27 and the solenoid valve transmission pilot pressure. What is odd about this failure is the harness was in perfect condition from the looks of it, the connector had no corrosion, the open was buried inside the outside casing. Soldered in a new wire and all is good. Thank You very much for your help!!

    Diagnostics at it's best.....

Was it simply a wire break or was it an internal splice of the H802 wire that went bad..? If it was a wire break was there an bend or kink in the harness at that point..? Did you take photos..? If so post them up for others to see.

D5g i have the same issue goin on with my d5g the computer tells me the park break solenoid over current is that a short or bad solenoid or bad ecm is there a way to say if it's the ecm or not 4267 is the code the computer gives me
