Hy Gents , As the title implies, I´m a bit lost on the serial numbers versus comercial versions... A machine called D5H XL with Powershift TXM is of serial # 8RJXXX correct? A machine Called D5H STD with Powershift TXM is of serial # 8RCXXX Correct? Understood Series I or II means they were produced 2 times between a time frame, in between Model´s, as the II´s having some upgrades, Correct? Thanks very much
There are a lot more D5H models than those two options. Below the full list. TTT = Track-Type Tractor; PS = Powershift; LGP = Low Ground Pressure; DD = Direct Drive As you can see below for many S/N prefixes the Series II machines started somewhere around 4000. The 8RJ-prefix was actually badged as a Series III.
Thanks Nige, I guess now i understand a litle more about this model series. Especially why i couldn´t find many XL models for sale.
8RJ machines are going to be pretty hard to find compared to other D5H models. Only just under 1300 tractors in total were ever built between April 1992 & June 1996 starting at S/N 8RJ04000.
Yep, 1300 tractors WW is not much... Despite that we can still see some available from US market... in Europe almost all are LGP, never seen one XL for sale, all i found were LGP and ended up with one. For our farm is a litle tricky machine, too long and wide undercariage even after beeing fitted with 48cm pads, too high as it has like 60cm belly clearence. Also a litle thirsty after some power tweaking, but pushes much more than a D6D. Since it needs some repairs, after cutting and welding it will end up good, i guess...
D5H out pushes a D6D? Hmm
PLS, understand what was mentioned, my dozer after some tweeks is pushing a bigger mout of dirt than the neighbour 6D, and recicles way faster. (both over 30 years old machines) Not to mention puling on the disk harrow, but that is of no comparison. Still, i´m on the process of refining the tunning, still don´t have info on the EGT behaviour and haven´t installed an Intake cooler, TXM temps are on the 90ºC steady so its a promissing sign! I just like to tune stuff..
