Considering purchase of D6 9U own sent pic ser.# 3H2616 looks like tag reads transmission group number owner states it's 1957 model. That # don't work on ser.# sites. Thanks for any help.

    Yes, 3H2616 is the transmission group number, not a serial number. The serial number should be in these ranges; 010A 00041 01616 020A 00001 01504 020A 01505 04222 031A 00001 00222 032A 00001 00177 008U 06444 11045 009U 13263 29764

    Owner can't find it sending someone to look it over how hard is it to know if it has wet steering clutches Thanks

    9U13263-up are all wet clutch, earlier models could be converted to wet clutch. Look for the vent/fill and dipstick on the RH side of the clutch housing.

    I started out in 1990 at a Cat junk yard in Little Rock Ar. called C.A.T.S. My first real job they let me do was converting a 9U D6. cable operated blade over to all hydraulic. Cool machines.
