why would a d6 b caterpillar injector pump leak diesel out drip line
why would a d6 b caterpillar injector pump leak diesel out drip line...It drips then when you start the engine it comes out in a steady stream 1967 yr
Drip line? Are you sure you're not looking at a disconnected return line?
It has 1 return line, but there are 2 drip lines bolted against the block, one drip line comes out of the top of the filter, it goes beside the block, the other drip line goes out just above the glass filter comes back down and meets with the 1st drip line and bolts against the block. They just hang down, at the ends.. one drips then when you start it, it comes out in a steady stream. the lower one that passes by the glass filter is the one that leaks. The return line on mine is plugged off??? there is no where I see to put the return line.. I have had/ran the dozer 3 years a couple hundred hours, it never dripped until now.. If it is the return, where would it go in at.. I dont see a place on the tank for it..
at the top of the filter housing to the side there is a round knob that bleeds the air out of the filter housing it might be loose or if it is the one by the glass bowl it probably is the weep line for the transfer pump meaning the seal in the transfer pump is bad try changing transfer pump if you need i can send you one [email protected] i work for utah track and welding
The "tell tale" drip lines indicate whether you have leaking seals at the fuel transfer pump or from leaking pumps in the fuel injection housing. The filter tower vent ties in to one of the drip lines.
