D6C Transmission Pump Pressure Test Procedure

jscott · 2018-11-20 09:04

Could someone post the procedure to check pressures at various points in the transmission pump system for a D6C 76A0713. My old, tattered service manual is missing the relevant pages. Thanks!

Hi I could not find your serial number but these specs are from a common d6c serial number Oil Pump For Torque Divider (Power Shift) (5M7864) Rotation is counterclockwise when seen from the drive end. For bench test use SAE 10W oil at ... 120° F(49° C) Output (minimum) ... 3.2 U.S. gpm(12.1 lit/min) With pump at ... 500 rpm At a pressure of ... 120 psi(8.4 kg/cm2) (1) Diameter of the shafts (new) ... .7407 ± .0003 in.(18.814 ± 0.007 mm) (2) Clearance between gears and cover (new parts) ... .0020 to .0035 in.(0.051 to 0.089 mm) (3) Torque for nut ... 40 ± 5 lb. ft.(5.5 ± 0.7 mkg) (4) Bore of bearings (new) ... .7425 ± .0003 in.(18.860 ± 0.007 mm) Oil Pump For Power Shift Transmission (9S9384 and 3P6816) Rotation is clockwise when seen from the drive end. For bench test use SAE 10W oil at 120° F (49° C): Output ... 32.5 U.S. gpm(123.0 lit/min) With pump at ... 1900 rpm At a pressure of ... 300 psi(21.1 kg/cm2) (1) Clearance between the gears and the cover (new) ... .0010 to .0035 in.(0.048 to 0.089 mm) (2) Bore of the bearings in the cover and manifold (new) ... 1.2511 to 1.2517 in.(31.778 to 31.793 mm) (3) Diameter of both shafts (new) ... 1.2495 to 1.2499 in.(31.737 to 31.747 mm) Oil Pump For Power Shift Transmission (9M222) Rotation is clockwise when seen from the drive end. For bench test use SAE 10W oil at 120° F (49° C): Output ... 28 U.S. gpm(106.0 lit/min) With pump at ... 1800 rpm At a pressure of ... 300 psi(21.1 kg/cm2) (1) Clearance between the gears and the cover (new) ... .0019 to .0031 in.(0.048 to 0.079 mm) (2) Bore of the bearings in the cover and manifold (new) ... 1.2534 to 1.2564 in.(31.836 to 31.913 mm) (3) Diameter of both shafts (new) ... 1.2495 to 1.2499 in.(31.737 to 31.747 mm)

Thanks for the info but I should have been clearer in my request. I am looking for pressure specs at the various pressure taps in the transmission hydraulic control system.
