D6H input shaft seal

Hey everyone, Just wondering if it’s possible to replace the transmission input shaft seal on a d6H (4YF) without pulling the entire transmission out? Thanks in advance.

If you remove the drive shaft the Yoke #1 should slide off the splines of the transmission input shaft leaving access to hook the seal out. The only challenge may be limited space in which to work. Check the surface of the yoke, the seal may have worn a groove in it.

Not sure about D6H, but in 5´s that yoke is not even bolted. Once the drive shaft joint is reseased it slides off by hand. Kind of easy job...

Thanks Nige. Space won’t be a drama. Nose cone and radiator is out? Engine, flywheel housing and torque converter is out. So plenty of room. Currently doing engine out rebuild, track frame refurbishing and a mountain of hoses.

Crack on in that case, and don't let fear stop you.

Thanks mate will do. I was or still am, about 300km from the machine and just wasn’t quite sure. This site/forum is a fantastic tool. You blokes who have the knowledge and are happy to share should be proud. Thank you.
