Will worn rollers contribute to track coming off machine when turning? The front & rear idlers are new, rails are new, sprockets are new? Why does Cat alternate single flange & double flange rollers on the track frame? Why not use double flange rollers front to back?
Can you start with a Serial number please. There are far too many options of D6H out there to know which one of them you actually have. Also please post a side-on photo of the track frame showing the track rollers. Looking to see what type of track guiding guard arrangement you have. FYI the roller flanges are not designed to keep the track links in position if the machine is working on a side slope or turning.
This machine is a bit of an oddball. There is no serial # on it. No riveted plate where serial # should be & no numbers stamped in the iron where plate should be. Looking @ upper left hand, rear corner of machine, below fuel tank. A knowledgeable parts man @ a Cat dealership told me the machine was built in Indonesia. There is a stamped info plate under the iron lid to access the track tensioner. This info is typed in some kind of Asian language. He advised me the prefix of serial # should be 3YG. I recently had to change out the rad cores, 7 individual cores with square bases. I bought these cores from a used parts store. Parts man there advised that square base cores started @ machine # 4000. Prior to that the cores had more of an oval shape. I am now using a completely arbitrary serial #, 3YG 4070. One parts person described it as a "gray" machine. Basically indicating unknown origin. Do you have any thoughts on this? The track frame has 7 rollers, a welded on rock guard front and rear, and a bolted on rock guard straddling the 3rd roller from the front. I don't know how to send a photo on this forum(?). Thanks for your help.
When you are writing the reply to a post look at the bottom LH corner of the text box for the "attach file" paperclip icon. Click that icon and upload to your heart's content. You are only allowed to upload a maximum of 4 images per post though. Is there a Serial Number on the engine by any chance.?
Could the tracks be too loose and what brand are the rails? Usually snaky tracks and/or something being out of line causes the the tracks to come off.
