what is 618 f02, it pop up as i went to park machine to end the day... the light next to the trans fault light (left)went off also, any ideas. ran good all day. i forgot to write down the first 3 digit number, but im going to guess its 113 knowing my number with that prefix.....thanks
This diagnostic code is associated with the parking brake switch. The parking brake switch has two inputs to the ECM. The inputs are Normally Open and Normally Closed. During normal operation, one of the inputs is open and the other input is grounded. A failure is detected when both inputs are in the same state at the same time. The ECM monitors the two switch to ground type inputs from the switch to determine the status of the switch. The ECM also monitors the switch energize circuit at the ON/OFF output.
so dont park it on a hill, huh......LOL or you saying it might be a switch not closing or opening the circuit
The following occurs when the ECM detects that the parking brake switch is in the ON (brake engaged) position: The ECM expects to detect the solenoid energize voltage (system voltage) The energize voltage is directed through the switch contacts. Note: If the ECM does not detect system voltage when the parking brake switch is on, a CID 0618 FMI 02 will be activated. Some other conditions that can cause this diagnostic code to be activated are: Fuse open or circuit breaker tripped Switch failure Open in the switch energize circuit ECM has failed
thanks
Do you have an electrical schematic for your machine..? If not drop me a PM with an e-mail address quoting your Serial Number (or at least the prefix) and I'll send it to you.
So what happened to the days when a switch failed and the machine wouldn't move? This code might mean there is something wrong, but the machine is still operational?
The knob you pull is not the switch, there is a linkage that goes to the switch. Take the square plate off the side of the steering tower and you will see where you can adjust it, maybe that's all it needs. Worth a look.
thanks guys. it only does it 1 in 15 times, so its hard to replicate to see it i got it or not.
