Just wondering if anyone here has seen a TD15 should be a 1960 model dozer with Detroit 4-71 engine in it whoever switched it over from the 6 cylinder did a good job it looks factory. This dozer is up for auction and is at $2900.00 now would this be a good price under carriage looks to be at least 75%. I have included a link that has the pictures and info on it. http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?121205/F6180/showall

Conversion looks good and the general condition looks good for it's age, the left bottom rollers look more worn and I notice they don't show any pics of the leftside outer rails so the pin bosses maybe marking........? That was their first real hardnose design to work with front mounted hydraulic lift cylinders which this machine isn't using, the dozer setup looks a bit hoaky as this wasn't the original design either, looks more like a different manufacturers design than IH. Prior to this they had used BE a lot but this isn't it either, looks more Holt styled IIRC. For 3 grand it's likely below scrap weight price.......the original engine offered was a short lived IH design and they're hard to find and even worse for parts. Going to the 4-71 is way better in that aspect if you don't mind going deaf.......but what was the hp of the 4-71? The original IH would have been around 130hp and their finals weren't the most bulletproof.......I wouldn't want to overpower it given the age and scarcity of parts........ Hard to say how much they cleaned it up.......the hydraulic reservoir looks oil misted which would have been easy to pressure wash but the Detroit looks unusually clean.........something funny there........LOL This could be a good cheap dozer for a ranch, farm or hobby use, around 30K weight, old D6 comparable size, last of the old design before they went powershift, parts will be harder to come by, General Gear in Idaho probably has the most of the last used stuff available for it........ I have ran my buddies with a much bigger Cat blade than this one and it was a well balanced machine to operate..........

Forgot to add rightside track looks pretty slack, those tension adjusters can be really stubborn if they haven't been used in awhile.......count the links from each track and see if they are the same........
