We have a D6R with a six way blade and System One undercarriage. After 3400 hours of use in everything from pushing blasted rock to finish grading, not quite sure what to make of the wear characteristics of the undercarriage. The machine has third gear programmed out and does'nt see much high speed use.A top notch operator as well, probably the best in this region. He's fussy and makes very few if any wasted movements,so I don't think IMO it's abuse. It seems to wear the inside rail on track chain and not so much the outside rail. There was a problem with the track pads on the inside rubbing the A-frame for the blade but that was taken care of under at around the thousand hour mark. Any one having the same experience?Any comments on System One?
No experience at all, but I wonder if like tyres that get worn from new with the tracking out, redoing the tracking and even changing the position of the tyre on the car makes little difference the tyres are going to wear that way. I wonder if that is what has happened to your rails due to the rubbing issue for the first 1000hrs. Logic tells me that the rails probably wont wear themselves even again just because the rubbing issue was sorted. IMHO :drinkup
dominion.... i work for cat rental denmark and we have about 8 D6R lgp series 3 with system one and all of them rubs the outside of the chains and after about 3000 hours we change the right side track over to the left side and vice versa i have heard from hour cat dealer that the first 3 series are now coming in for a new u/c and they have run from 6500 to 7500 hours so the extra mony for system one is well given out the only minus i can say about the u/c is that its a bit more noisy but only from the outside
