d7 17a shift problem

d7 17a cable blade-suddenly gear shift stuck and forward and reverse lever stuck-did this once before then started working again-any views on this problem appreciated.

    There should be a linkage worked off the Clutch lever ,that locks it in gear so it can't jump out of gear . This is maybe not releasing when the clutch is disengaged .

    That's where I'd start looking too. My 17A had the opposite issue of jumping out of gear and it was the locking plungers at fault that time. They are really easy to access and cheap to replace, which is a bonus.

    They are under the small cover down on the right hand side of the transmission. You need to get yourself a service manual.
