D7G 65v (Engine s/n 9LM)

I wanted to share some information that I chased down today regarding D7G 65V's with retrofits. We have a 65V8*** tractor with an engine that has a 9LM004** s/n. This machine was built in Japan for export to the U.S. and we bought it brand new back in the 90's; we have just started having to do some engine work from time to time. There is one huge problem with the engine serial number...there aren't any records of a 9LM that our dealer or Caterpillar can find. If you are having issues with a 3306 9LM s/n you need to get your dealer to pull media # REHS2917 (Installation of a 3306 Engine Emissions Upgrade Group...) It shows the engine s/n as 08Z, but the info is spot on with this 9LM. JCS
