D7H Transmission lines removal.

hi. Does anyone know how to remove the steel tubes inside the transmission case that feed from above the control valve that goes up and bends around and exits the front of the case before it couples the hose that goes to cooler. is there a way to remove repair and fit back in ? thanks

    There is a method of replacing failed tubes. The old tube has to be (very) carefully cut out using a die grinder. Then a new tube has to be installed and it requires the use of a tube expander tool to "swell" it into position and seal it to the rear case. The problem is that the tubes are not listed in any Parts Manual. The Cat dealer has to find the Part Number then the replacement tube has to be specially ordered. Do you have a cracked tube.? A Serial Number would also help.

    Depends exactly where the tube is failed (the crack/leak should be accessible) but there is another method of repair using arc welding & silver soldering that might work in your case.
