D8k,s & boxes at work UK, tried to post photos,try video instead,part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1MXrZUAqMg
Looks like it is a bit muddy there. I like the hydraulic conversion done on the front end gate.
Those are pretty common here, we have heavy gumbo clay that rubber-tire machines struggle with and high moisture content. Funny thing is this being the Canadian Prairies and all I have only seen a small handful with full heated cabs like what you see on your video. Most are open ROPS and a few have nothing at all, some though during the summers have umbrellas to keep the sun off. lol When I get the chance I'll post a video and some more pictures.
yes Greg, gets a bit greasy when the frost comes out,but the frost helps get that first top layer off keep trying to post photos, meanwhile heres vid part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBNO7YQEx5s
Have you seen anybody using D8L's or D8N's for pulling scrapers yet?
245dlc,yes we worked beside a D8N with 463 but its no match for a D8k,and he run with his blade on trying to get more grip.
:notworthyRun D8K and D7G here pulling pans. I use them in everything. gumbo, shale, top soil, have enen had them in the sane. Sometimes use another D7 as a push cat when cutting gets tough. Awsome combination in my book.
That's interesting last year the main component of a large flood diversion channel originally built in the sixties was completed using some pretty interesting combinations of "Cats and scrapers" and on the website for the project they showed a couple pictures of I think 8N's or 8L's pulling scrapers, but to be honest it was the first time I ever somebody using elevated drive Cat's to pull scrapers. One company here in the city only uses 8K's for scraper duty, they're 8N's are just blade machines. I'll leave a link as they have some interesting pictures of the project which was a huge one by the way. Here's one on the construction status as it has several pictures of different parts of the project this project was to double it's capacity. http://www.floodwayauthority.mb.ca/construction_status.html And this is when it was originally constructed in the sixties lots of pictures by the way http://www.floodwayauthority.mb.ca/duffsditch_channel.html
Link 245dlc,thanks for the link, interesting pictures.
D6 pusher yes Greg,a little bit of help goes a long way,we have used a D6H push loading before now, sometimes just need that little bit extra.
finaly got this picture thing sorted out:Banghead
gets a bit greasy when the frost is out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TimqAfa5VI
Hi Roly, Love the stuff you post, brings back many memories from my "in seat" days towing pans. Gets kind of exiting on the stockpile when the material is that wet. How many D8K/463G rigs do you guys have ? I've seen at least 5 in one of your videos. We had a UK-build 463G in out fleet, you could always spot it as it had a different push block to the US built ones. Keep 'em coming
Hi WabcoMan,we run six D8K,s with 463,s,and two D8H,s as back up, moved a third unit onto this job today, but rain stopped play, the other three are working on another job up country.
