What does a d8n actually weigh? I'm getting conflicting stories. So to those who have actually hauled them , where do they come in at Thanks
To get a real accurate answer I suppose the first question is how the particular tractor you want to haul is configured. What width of track shoes? What type of blade? Does it have a ripper, cab or canopy, sweeps, etc?
A 9tc d8n without blade and only a draw bar is 55,100 lbs aprox.
yep, sorry i should of been better about my question. i was in the field when i posted question......9tc with su blade, 28" pads, reg drawbar, rops, no sweeps as of now. but im hearing anywhere from 75-84k, thought id try to narrow it down some. ive got an old 45ton lowboy, and hate to over due it with her......thks guys
D8N 9TC with Blade and Rippers 38.5 tonne
so we are looking at 74-75k lbs max with su blade and reg drawbar. thks guys
38.5 metric tonne is 85K lbs
As Lee says 38.5 metric tonnes is about 85,000 pounds. However TJ's machine doesn't have a ripper so take off about 7000 pounds but add on about 700 for the drawbar. That leaves us somewhere around the 79,000 pound mark.
The one I drove was a tad over 42 tonne SU blade & quad picks Heavy radiator & belly guards etc
i can haul up to 80k, so i think ill be ok. looked up cats ripper for the 8t is 9000 lbs according to there website.....thks again guys
