Hi, i am having a D8R with repetitive track adjuster/telescoping recoil grease seal issue. The seal is subjected to some type of force which cuts it repeatedly (in 30 hours of work). i have inspected the track adjuster assembly but i could not find any issues. i would appreciate any tips on what to look for. The seal #12 is behind a fixed cover that only serves to locate and guide the recoil "cannon" as it moves in and out of the track frame. There should be no relative movement between the cover #14 and the track frame when it is bolted up tight. There are 2 identical covers, one on the inside, the other on the outside of the track frame. Are you sure this is the seal you are having trouble with..?
