Hi guys, Everything else on the hydraulics works fine it is only when crowding the stick that it stalls the engine. It will work fine for about an hour or until it warms up and then it starts with this non-sense. Have replaced fuel filters just in case. Thanx in advance for the help. Cheers, Fred
Good day Fred Do you have a low emission engine ? Kind regards Uffex
Hi Uffex, It is a D1146ti engine and not sure about the low emissions. this machine has just over 13000hrs and the engine was redone at 10000hrs.
Good day Fred We are dealing with the issue you describe on a frequent basis in the vast majority of those case's it ends up being the engine. If i may explain most if not all most modern excavators have variable flow pumps as the pressure demand increase so does the flow reduce. Pressure X Flow = Kw but the basis to this statement is that the engine will not overload because the pump control backs off as the load increase's. When you use Arm in for example again most will connect both pumps to the circuit allowing maximum flow as the pressure increase so the pumps back off - boom raise is also the same. If your machine has had any fuel or turbo issues or indeed blocked intercooler that may well precede such an issue. Remember hydraulics are today reliable and do not self adjust - electronics can fail but it is normal to see such an event on the display. I believe your machine has negative displacement control that being the case disconnect the proportional valve run the bucket cylinder to the end if it kills the engine that is where your problem belongs. Sorry to go on at length and indeed if you already have this knowledge. Kind regards Uffex
Thank you Uffex, I have found it in the shop manual and will try to do the adjustments on the regulators as you described. Thank you
Hi, It is using the Kawasaki k3v pump and on the regulators on the pumps you have one big nut for power adjustment and another below it for the the flow. Even in the shop manual it states turning out these nuts if it stalls the engine. The one for regulating the power was already at the max turned out and so I tried the flow nut and took it out 1,5 turns on both pumps and it didn't stall the engine anymore but when working underload overheats the engine. Any further help is appreciated.
excuse me guys if I get involved like parsley in every soup, what do you think of the performance of daewo / doosan solar series excavators, which strengths and weaknesses that performance? in my part I have not seen specimens these models, thank you for your sincerity and availability
Good day Fred May I suggest you go through the engine with a degree of care - take out the fuels system get it checked out by a skilled shop - change all the filters - clean out the intercooler - check out the turbo make sure its pushing in what it should - if to runs uneven check the compression on each pot - You should not adjust the hydraulics to compensate for a poor engine. Kind regards Uffex
Hi Trombeur, I guess it is the same as most of any machines that it works well and does what it should do until one day it doesn't anymore and your sh!7 starts. I can uncatagorically state that the biggest weakness on any machine is the operator, but if you get a good one can also be one of the strenghts of the machine. The machine is strong and does what you'd expect from a 30ton machine and the Solar series because they are older don't have to many electronics and troubleshooting is normally easy.
Thankx Uffex, we will start with that and let you know. I understand what you mean about not changing the hydraulics but the engine has about 13000hrs on it and has been reconned at about 10000. From what I understand as I have spoken with a few guys is that the engine does loose some horses over the years and even in the shop manual it talks about how to adjust the hydraulics if the power output of the engine isn't new anymore.
Uffex, in your second response above you said. "Disconnect the proportianal valve and if it kills the engine after cylinder run to ends thats the problem." Didn't you mean that after the propotional valve has been disconnected and it works then it is the faulty valve?
grazie vostri preziosi consigli, daewoo solar doosan è un escavatore inusuale dalle pie parti, abbiamo poca esperienza con questo marchio credo coreano , grazie
Good day Fred We have taken a look at the schematic as we suggested the pumps are negative controlled please see attached .Maybe your machine looks a little different. Kind regards Uffex
Sorry I cannot read Italian cannot take the trouble to translate.
thank you for everything, thanks for the additional news I'm sorry for misunderstanding and the misunderstanding, thanks again
Had a TB53FR takeuchi with same issue. Arm cylinder load check in main valve worn in bore. Finally wedged permanently. Nearly stalled engine when warm, until worse, then all the time.
