how do you handle your davis bacon jobs? we are not union. right now we pay the wage and zone in cash. if the employee receives benefits he gets the fringe in cash less the amount of benefits he receives. our only real benefits are health insurance and 401k. we pay straight time only on each hour worked for the fringe. when we pay the zone in cash we do not pay lodging or per Diem. we also require the employee to get to the job site on his dime. we are considering setting up a fringe benefit plan to an irrevocable trust to which we would pay the fringe benefit wage. any thoughts on all of this?
