Hello, My JD 310E started leaking all the sudden from the piece circled in red in the picture... It looks like it rusted internally then the rust pushed through the paint and fluid started escaping. 1. The piece it's leaking from looks removable but I'm not familiar with the workings of a valve like this. 2. There's another very rusty and swollen part on this valve that is circled in blue. It looks to have HUSKO 6004K written on it. Is this valve repairable? Thanks for taking a look!
The piece circled in red is the loader system relief. The one in blue is a circuit relief valve with anti-cavitation for the loader bucket dump circuit. Both are replaceable. You will need a serial number to get the correct parts.
Is it as simple as unscrewing the old one and screwing in the new?
The serial number is T0310ex84663c
Yes, just unscrew the old one and install the new one. Make sure you relieve the pressure before you unscrew either by placing the loader on the ground, shut engine off and cycling the loader lever through all positions several times. Some oil will run out when you change them so it will be a little messy. I would recommend checking the pressures after installation to make sure they are in spec. An external pump is required for the circuit relief so you can probably leave that one alone after installation. The loader system relief (2850 +/- 100 psi) should be checked with a gauge at the small port you can see on top of the valve in your picture.
I have only bought JD agriculture parts for my green tractor...never any JD construction parts. Does Deere have online parts manuals? Should I find a local JD construction equipment dealer to buy parts from? Sorry to ask so many questions but I appreciate the help.
Try AVspare for your part numbers and then “hunt” for the best on line deal.
Is there any way to tell the year of this machine from the serial number?
Search internet for parts or go to https://partscatalog.deere.com and select a dealer for price and availability. Your serial number should end with a number and not with the letter "c". "E" series were built fro 1995-2001. The serial number will not help with a specific year. Deere does not use years, they use models with serial numbers only for parts.
