Hello, Just picked up a 2012 Deere 320D. Serial Number 1T0320DJHCG225760. Codes that are active are 523693.04, 523694.04, 523694.12. Go to service menu and roller switch is at 0.00v on both up and down. Reading through the other threads I need to test the roller switch wires. Before I starting digging in to it to much my thought is the code 523694.12 which the service manual says is a device fault and replace switch would mean just that. Or could it be the wires are shorted and its not the switch? Anything i should look for or test first? Test the wires at the joystick connectors first and/or test the wires from the EMU? Thanks!
So just tested and I do not have 5v at the connector by the joystick. So I will have to figure out where it gets 5v from.
Welcome to HEF Dimmy ! 5 volts to the roller switch comes directly from the monitor on the P20 red wire. If you do not have 5 volts, then the wire is shorted to ground, open, or an issue with the monitor. How are you checking that voltage? Backprobed or with the handle disconnected? Most times when those codes are present, it is the roller switch that is defective. But not always, so the wiring has to be eliminated. You did test the wires for continuity from one end to the other? Continuity from one wire to another? Continuity from the wires to ground? Any stray voltage to each wire?
So we found the problem. The wires were so tightly wound around the joystick that they were broke internally. Soldered them back together and plugged it in and everything works perfectly. Had good continuity from connector to emu so figured we would a check the joystick wiring. Saved $455 dollars. Thanks for the help mg2361
