Just recently bought a 450g dozer. Everything works well except the right steering. Still not 100% sure how the steering works on this machine. It has the foot pedals for left and right. Left works fine, right works occasionally then other times it only works when you tap it really fast or hold the left down halfway them hit the right at the same time. Both pedals feel equal as far as pressure on them. Any ideas? Not sure where to start first.

The first couple of inches of steering pedal travel dumps the oil pressure to the individual steering clutch , the remainder of the pedal travel starts to apply the steering brake. At the bottom of pedal travel (approximately 11.0 inches from the firewall) the brake should be 100% applied creating the pivot turn. The individual brakes can be adjusted if necessary to achieve the 11.0 inches to the firewall. Does the engine load up when traveling and trying to steer to the right ?
Yeah you can hear the engine load up when you hit the right pedal
Yeah the engine does load up
Sounds like the right hand side steering clutch pressure is not completely dumping and are driving over the applied brake. First thing to check is that no dirt and debris has accumulated around the steering valve rods and linkage , make sure the steering valve spools are able to travel unobstructed. Is the machine direct drive or has a torque convertor ? Check your messages for steering valve spool adjustment.
I'm not sure. How do I tell if it has torque converter?
Looking at Operators manual screenshot below , if you have pedal “A” the machine is direct drive. Torque converter machines don’t have pedal “A” . .
Just curious as I have a 550G, how should you use pedal A? It seems to act like a clutch on a tractor, but then that seems redundant to the decelerator pedal.
