2005 Deere 6420. After brush cutting to years with a 540 PTO Land Pride I purchased a 1,000 PTO Land Pride. I removed and swapped end-for-end the rear PTO connector. Now when I increase the engine speed above 1200 or so RPM I get a ‘PTO OVER-SPEED’ warning. The 1,000 PTO indicator light on the console correctly lights up and when I flip the multi-function lever on the steering column right side it shows the correct PTO speed. When I swapped the PTO connector back and forth the indicator lights flip 5401,000 like they should. All indications show that it knows it is 1,000 PTO but it still triggers a warning.
