A friend of mine has a 700H throwing f490 code and he says the machine will quit. Any ideas? I have f480 wrote down in my list of codes for our 648Glll skidders for water in fuel But he said he replaced filters 2 weeks ago. Bad ECU connection maybe? Another guy told me cam sensor but Every time I had cam sensor problems the machine would derate not shut off. Any ideas?
This machine has the DE10 stanadyne with the two wire metro-pack going to the pump? The code is for the pump solenoid being shorted and in my experience is usually remedied by pump replacement. You could check the solenoid resistance and harness resistance between the two circuits with the ECU unplugged at the ECU. Pump solenoid should not read 0 ohms
