2012 2954D shovel logger When traveling and you stop & start again it is as normal but if you use any other functions and go to travel again one track hesitates then bang, it gets full pressure. Same if it sits idling and you go to travel, like it is building pressure against a valve or something. Any ideas what it may be? Our local Pape guys just like to throw parts at it until it works and that is damn spendy. Thanks

It loads the hydraulics like it is a brake not releasing then it comes free....

Don't know the brand but would be interested in what you find out. Maybe more than one name on the search engine will bring out some suggestions.

sounds like a sticking flow combiner to me.

is it forward and reverse on both sides? Off hand it sounds like it is getting full pilot pressure instantly. Has there been any work done to the joy sticks or foot valves?....just brainstorming......TIO

4436535 this is the part number for the travel pressure sensor, have they changed it? I don't have a service manual and don't exactly know what it does but I am going to guess the brakes are controlled by a solenoid valve rather than a pilot pressure actually opening a valve. if the sensor did not open at the low end of the pressure setting then the motors could load up with pump pressure before they released....TIO

that sensor could also be only for the travel alarm....TIO

RE pump divider: That sounds like a very possible answer. I've seen that on properly functioning hoes , pumps fully devided on travel then when you bump another function, the pumps slam together causing machine to jerk .

It is forward and reverse on one side only. The hesitation before moving is up to 5-7 seconds at times but it is loading the pump as soon as you push the travel pedal.

Oh...one side only? That motor or brake pack is on its way out then.... Id tee a gauge into the brake to be sure youre getting brake release oil to that side right when you touch the pedal (-4 line on motor). Ive seen a few leak internally on the head of the motor that would do similar things as well. Edit: after rereading the original post,^ im probably wrong about themotor or brake failing, but you need to determine if the issue is in the motor, valve or pilot manifold. Swap the travel lines on thetop of the rotary manifold and see if the problem moves to the other track

Ok, it is back but not as bad. Seems to be the worst with warm oil. Thank you guys!!
