On large dozers d9 thru d11 some reclamation blades are 28 degrees on the wings and some are 30 degrees Would a Cat 18' 30 degree chip blade work for reclamation if the height was cut down ? and doubled skinned face for a d9t. I know Russel & Sons made some blades for a single d9h crawler that had extra wings and stiff arms for lignite mine reclamation, same guys that came up with double dude.
i dont think so, it was designed as a unit and if you start cutting on it you change the stress points, and it will probably break up. you would be better off going to coal country an find a old 9 or 10 and buy the blade off of it
It was just an option think i will stay with the semi u standard blade i read some where on here a guy has a d10 or d11 they modified a big coal blade by cutting down some height and use it for reclamation thats what gave me the idea it works for them there is not much difference in the wood chips blades to the coal blades they are practically the same on weight and cubic yardage.
