So a new thread. "A dozer, but not really?" It just always seemed goofy them using a high CG machine to add the side boom attachments too. So how do they compare to the older normal side boom retro fits? Does anyone have experience with both designs?
I'm thinking it has more to do with the track rollers (bottom ones) on the left side, and the counterweight on the right side. Engine & drivetrain weight is still where it always has been, left/right wise. (looking straight down from above).
A lot of operators were kind of leery of high track machines when they came out but after using them for awhile realized the CG isn't much higher, mostly just the cab and ROPS. The counterweight is designed to give ample ample safety factor for the rated capacity too.
