I am located in southeast Ga. I am needing to know a fair price to charge per yard off dirt Digging from both sides off branch inside water level, thus deepening pond . Hauling with dump trucks loaded by excavators onto the dam. Barpits are dry, clay is 3-6', and the haul is on fairly level ground with a 300-500 yard haul distance. I know there are alot off variables but this should give you professionals enough info to come up with a reasonable rate. Thx
just do it hourly if you don't know how to price it. if you try to per yard something like this it tends not to go by your ideal production rate and loose money. wet material is a pita. i would let the customer take the risk.
The owner is putting job up for bids. In my research i've heard from 2-3$ a yard. Each contractor will figure his own estimated dirt, stump removal below water-line to get clay on each side of the run and installation of two 12" syphones. He is new land-owner & lives 200 miles from jobsite so he wants a turn-key , know exactly what he's gonna pay. Sure i would love to do by the hour but i've divided dam into 3 sections and figured yardage in each, The center section will reguire the most dirt, the flatter end the 2nd most, and the steeper hillside the least amount. It not as simple as figuring the same trapezoid the entire length off dam.
Just make sure you bid enough, it's a lot better to miss the job than pay to do it.
