Does Cat 941B track/shoe fit 941?

I dont know if this is too broad of a question and if there is more info needed to answer it or if some of you seasoned guys will be laughing at me at even posing these questions but..... Can anyone tell me if a 941B track and/or shoes will fit a 941? Is this compatibility based on the serial numbers at all? the shoes on my 941 are pretty worn and I'm looking at a parts machine that has good shoes. parts machine does run/move. Is it easier to just swap out tracks from one machine to the other? How hard of a job is that to do? vs. swap all the indiv. shoes from side to side? (I imagine THAT is quite a job, all shoes, both sides for both machines!) Any input on this would be greatly appreciated! thanks! Jr

As usual a lot depends on Serial Numbers. Post the S/N of your machine and the potential "donor" and I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Regarding the question of swapping complete track groups rather than swapping all the shoes on a track link group individually you're right, it is a lot more work. Depends how much effort you want to put in and how much you value your time. Also depends on whether the original and donor track groups have a pin-type master link or the later crocodile tooth type.

Depends on the track link part numbers that your trying to exchange. 941 tracks came in 1/2", 9/16" and 5/8 " bolting and four different track link number pairs.
