Does one weak travel motor affect the other?

We have a 120-2 Sumitomo that has one newish travel motor and the other side is original, done 10,000hrs. Its quite weak in its tracks, dosent seem to track one way severely in second gear, but did track off badly in top gear. It now wont come out of second gear and lacks power in both tracks, even the good side has no more power in a turn than the old side. Is there a connection between the two that could be causing the good motor to be gutless? Or is it weak on the good side for another reason? Opinions appreciated.

With that number of hours on the machine have you inspected the centre swivel for internal seal leakage..?

Not exactly sure, I know that the service agency for Sumitomo here checked the pump pressures a year or two back when these issues started and it was up to spec. Would a centre joint leak have shown up when they did that?

The integrity (or not as the case may be) of the centre swivel seals is only evident when the machine is travelling, so I would suspect a pump pressure test would not have revealed anything.

Ok,so what other effects on the machine could a leaky centre joint have?

Could the centre joint leaking explain the gears not working?
