We are a rental company in Shelbyville, Ky. Recently we have gotten into the dealership part of the business. We are a dealer for the following companies -Gehl -Mustang -Genie -Snorkel -Toro -Allen engineering (concrete) Now we want to get into the large equipment industry. Doosan seems to be a good product and they have good features. Their price vs a Cat is unbeatble especially die to the fact I even liked the Doosan better! We havent had one long term though and I was wondering if anyone has much experiance with them??
We had a 350 excavator and not real impressed. Was slow and had doosan guys come up from Georgia to look at it and did not help. Had had time geting parts for them and had to order 4 pieces of glass to get 1 that was not broke as they ship them in just a cardboard box. They are cheaper then cat but you get what you pay for.
Exactly !!!! Cat can't touch there prices but its all about application. If you want to use it for light to medium use and not worried about selling down the road may be the best bang for the buck. If you need something to move dirt day in or day out and want a good resale Doosan may not be your first choice.
Head to head against any of the leading brands from what I've seen Doosan comes out wanting regarding both quality & performance - they are cheap for a reason. However as you said the selling price is the thing, the problem is that if you are planning on selling new machines you will likely be up against savvy equipment owners who can see past the lower purchase price and can calculate "whole life" ownership costs which may not reflect so positively in Doosan's favour despite the low purchase price.
Hi to everyone, I have Doosan and CAT, Doosan pros are the cheap buying prices, even on parts they are very cheap compared to CAT, the problem is the overall quality, after getting old the CAT is still going and the Dossan will be a piece of crap. I never bougth a joystick for a caterpillar and I use to buy them to Doosan, the use to break very often the plastic. Already bouth two control monitors, they just stop working, already welded the boom and the stick, all in a machine with 5000h. Altough money/machine the doosan maybe better choice than CAT,
