Working on the 66 JD 350 dozer, gas engine Well scouted around and found a suction fan for my Dozer, 16 inch flex fan from flex-a-lite. The odd part is that the JD350 runs a 1.50 inch pilot on the water pump where most fans are 1/2 3/4 for small fans, 1 or 2 inch for the monsters. I ordered a 1 inch thick fan spacer and a 3/4 pilot fan. New bolts from the hardware store (most auto fans run fine thread bolts) quick trip on the lathe to spin the adapter down to 7/8 thick and open the rear pilot to 1.51 and a half inch deep. Bolted on slick, fitted the side covers. Floor temps are now quite warm and dry quickly, the snow that was packed around the skid plates is all gone. Operators position is almost comfortable, far far better than before for certain. I'll rehab the factory fan, smooth it out and give it a very nice paint job for summer use.
