You can pull on the new tracks with the machines final and a chain but to move them around off the machine you need some kind of machine, crane or come-a-long.

Thanks Lee, the actual issue arrises from when we get the tracks from the Mines. The are already folded and chained upon delivery. We normally take them off the truck, take the chain off and unfold with a forklift which is not best practice. They go for a wash and then towed and pushed up ont the track back for maintenance, again the forklift is in play. When they are complete the reverse happings using the forklift again. We are looking at this stage for solutions that might be in use already without re-inventing the wheel. Cheers

Thats how we do it. It works well except with the D10 and D11 tracks. For them we use a wheel loader with forks.

Ok, so what size machine. I have also seen a modified older forklift engineered to do this job as well. Cheers

We use whatever we have handy. Could be a 930 or a 972, we even use an excavator if we have too. Whatever we use, we just have to be careful of bending the forks because the tracks are so heavy. We flip the tracks onto their side and coil them up by pushing it around itself. Once coiled up it is put onto metal pallets.
