Dresser TD15E wont start or crank

All, I have a dresser TD15E that has sat for the last 10 years. It was mechanically sound when it was parked. The following spring two new batteries were put in the machine and when attempting to start the machine the starter will engage and "click" but will not crank. Since then no one has taken the time to diagnose until now. I used a much larger dozer and pushed the dresser which appears to be in neutral however the tracks on the dresser did not spin freely like it is in gear. I shoved the dozer 50 to 70 feet and there was no change. Here are the details: -Machine has 4700 hours -Turbo spins freely -No water in oil -New starter -Oil appears to be high and dirty -All other fluid levels appear to be proper -Removed the cover on the rear to the final drive, all gears are clean and well oiled (no rust) Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If it sat for 10 years, chances are that some cylinders are seized from moisture slowly getting in through exhaust or crank case blowbye pipe.. Could be fuel locked on top of 1 or more pistons. If it does not bar over with an appropriate socked or tool with minimum effort, you will need to pull injectors out and start lubing the cylinders. Usually , if cylinders are rusty, will require a tear down and reassembly. Check first if engine turns over freely. Simon C

Hi Simon, I pulled the injectors and have been lubing the cylinders as a precaution for when I get it started and Ill try to bar it over once more. Anything you can think of mechanically with the transmission or drives to look for? I would think it's something simple. The initial time frame from when it was originally shut down to attempting to restart was only 6 months and the same symptoms were occurring

If you can, hit the starter and watch the cooling fan. On a locked engine the starter will hit the flywheel hard and the fan will have a jerk motion. As advised above, you really need to bar the engine over by hand 2 complete revolutions.

Pull the starter and bar the engine over, check that the starter is free and will spin over while you have it removed. As has been mentioned, if you can rotate the engine by barring rotate 2 revolutions to be sure no stuck valves. Best to do that with a bar as opposed to the starter anyway to avoid damage to the valve train...or worse. Not sure the tracks would be released and roll without the machine running and building hydraulic pressure to release the bakes anyway, others here in the know more than I should be able to shine some light on that.
