drive motor brake

hi, what disengages the drive motor brake? this jerky left turn issue on my bobcat s 220 skid steer feels like the right side is trying to break free from a brake. if i use the machine to pick rocks the way it is, do you think i'll wreck things more?

Some brakes have 12 or so holes around a rotor that uses a hydraulic or simple torsion spring to push on a pin. This pin then locks into one of the holes in the brake rotor as it comes up, in forward or reverse. Sometimes engaged by the lift arm or the travel solenoids. Sometimes, you have to go backwards a little because there is pressure on the pin to rotor contact. If your brake is lock on then you’ll tear something up. Have you bothered to take the access plate off, to see what’s hanging up. Could be chain, shaft, bearing, brake?

hi, thanks, that the very next thing i'm going to do. another possibility is the pintle, which i'm replacing today but we'll see.
