Driveway Widening Project

Metalman 55 ยท 2017-08-19 19:24

Today I was helping a friend widen his driveway entrance to his farm & his two sons who had no previous experience on dozer or loader operation got their initiation on my D6C & 955L! See the results. I though they did pretty good for first timers. Nothing better than wide open spaces for the first time! https://1drv.ms/v/s!AlJeXIKywrAm5zULUwsEsfifU9qF https://1drv.ms/v/s!AlJeXIKywrAm5za2y1jpYiQ4VGgY

them boys did good for never running a dozer and a track loader before and they weren't cowboying your equipment nice and easy its good to see young guys doing that and being respectful of the equipment can you send them my way its hard to find good help

Am a thinning the boy on the 55 need be on the 6 and vise versa. Yungun on the 6 needs a little more time learnin feather no shove on control where the yungun on the 55 loves to load heavy!! Still better than I was once upon a time.

Here is the driveway that has been widened. The farmer is 20 loads of stone poorer now!! That's a lot of soya beans!

Looks like the highway we put in to the house here!! Had twenty four loads from bottom to top then additional twenty loads at top for house/shop access. Have had some six loads of add on and topping stone for washouts since.

Buildin a race track as we called it, up down up down, till you learn how to feather the blade. Only way to learn is to push dirt. Every kid should get time on gear when they are younger! Oh, and learn on older machines where you have to use both hands, feet, and maybe and extra hand, haha

Got JUST the machine!! Just let me get that MP back on!

Only once so far, to move driveway rock, been busy on the honey do stuff as her turn!! A little tile work then box the ends at the steps with left over flooring. Got another week and MODOT permit has OK to do some road entry grade changes.
