95 F800 with Ledwell rock bed telescoping cylinder. Has a Commercial Intertech pump/valve. Cylinder hangs up about 2'. Was able to push it down with the backhoe. Anyone got any thoughts on what the problem is.? Thanks, J.
Suddenly start doing this? Maybe after a hose change, oil change, repair of some kind or incident with the bed? Something is bent or needs grease? Maybe the biggest section is hanging in the packing, hard to say. Is there a bleeder on the top, maybe you got some air in there.
It has set idle for a while. I can shake it down rolling forward and hitting brakes all but the last couple feet. Did notice some cavitation as it goes up. Thanks for replies.
Low on oil, get that filled up, if you can put a load of something in it and exercise it a bit, should clear up. You can always shoot some penetrating oil (I like CAT) on the cylinder sections after you get it up in the air a bit. Don't get under the bed though.
My newest acquisition, a 91 International 4900, did this as well if the pto was left engaged. Loaded the bed would work fine, empty it hung in the up position. Problem was found to be the valve leaking by on the 'raise' side. Solution for now was to disengage pto before lowering the bed. Good luck John
