dump truck scissor hoist wont go down

i bought the dump truck a year ago and it has been really handy. It is an international s1600 and has a 14 foot bed. the hoist has plenty of power but if you raise the bed to high well you will have to look at the picture dont be to hard on me

    your gonna have to use something to raise it enough to un cam the links. then be sure to repair or replace the stops should prevent from happening.

    it did not come with stops thought about welding chains on it that would stop it if it was installed properly it would have had stops welded on it i guess

    i cant find anywhere anybody having this problem are welded stops the best or only solution

    It's installed wrong or somebody left a spacer tube out of the cylinder, they're not supposed to be able to go over center like that. Wonder if the rod has been pulled out of the piston inside the cylinder?

    not sure it is not the most professional install i am sure but it works for a weekend warrior i guess im gonna have to get off my butt and weld some stops on it

    Just a thought but from the pic it looks like maybe the scissor was installed backwards. If you unpin it from the cross tube and the frame and turn it around I think the braccing in the scissor arms would prevent it from inverting. Good luck John
