A water truck that carries water and has a spray system to keep the dirt moist.

Dust control of the pile or the road? If pile need a guy with a hose otherwise what chidog said.

Water trucks usually can have spray bars at the rear, and a controllable hose on the front to allow the driver to spray any area he needs to. Its similar to a fire hose and can spray maybe 50 plus feet or more.

Need some more details on where the dust is being created. There are additives that can be added to water to make it stay wet longer without evaporating as quickly. I recently read of one that can be sprayed on piles to reduce dust. Even laundry soap, dish soap or car wash soap can be added to water to essentially make it stay moist longer.

The reason people are asking is that there are federal regulations concerning dust levels inside a cab of a machine besides what is stirred up on the job site.

Wouldn't most modern loaders have fresh air cab filters like graders and Ag tractors have?

Yes, but if it's really dusty those filters will load up by lunch . . .

Then I think you would have to control the dust source outside the machine.

When I used to run loader feeding a dry screen plant down in a pit in the summer the dust would be so bad I would take the engine air filter out at lunch and bang a pailful of dust out of it. Repeat at the end of the day. The 80's era loaders we had then didn't have cabin air anything. Doors open, shirt off, bandana over the face if it was real bad. I didn't know anything about Federal dust regulations then, but if I had, I wouldn't have cared any more than my boss did.

We had to install cab pressurizers for some outfits even though they had cab air filters. The pressurizers had a Turbo II pre-cleaner on the intake and they tried to maintain a positive pressure inside the cab so the dust was less likely to enter.

Volvo equipment have an oil bath option for the engine air intake to remove the worst of the dust in really dusty conditions, or a turbo 2 type cyclone filter for the more than a little dusty but not really dusty conditions, for the Cab air there is an optional pre filter system that connects to the existing system that bolts up on the top rear of the cab
