We are renting equipment here in Europe , we have only one yard and a lot of machines going in and out everyday , at the moment we clean by a simple hot water pressure washer , we spend a lot of time washing , do anybody knows about a wash bay system to reduce manpower time. we rent from 1 T excavators to 90 T excavators , most of the machines coming in and out are of course 1 to 20 T machines Wheelloaders and excavators .
the local yards knock the big mud dirt off with a fire hose and then tackle the smaller greasy bits with the pressure heated water combo
Reducing manpower time (during clearing) I worked for a company that had a pressure washer that could cut your finger off from a foot away. I don't remember the brand name. And Really hot water like shooting steam. ...or on the verge. it would easily pearl paint from a foot away. You had to be careful. It always ruptured pressure hose. when you pulled the trigger it would send you Back... while braced! Ran on two twenty volts. ...large motor. ...and diesel fuel. It could easily cut most machines time in half! It worked much better than most sand blasters!
Dig a pit near the entrance and exit of the site, fill it with #1+2 Limestone. If you have a fire hose with huge volume and lower pressure it will peel away most mud. The mud will filter down through the stone leaving a fairly clean entrance and exit. Pressure washers are tedious and usually only spread the grease and mud around. Good luck.

We tried many ways , and it seems like we need a combination of tools , first step for a crawler machine whatever it is with a shovel and a spade + a compressor 175CFM compressor to blow most of the indercarriage dirt away without water . after with a fire hose on the bottom to remove the dirt , remove the machine from the wash bay , clean the concrete floor with the fire hose , put back the machine on the washing area and finish it with hot presssure washer , the inside cab and glass to be done in the workshop.
